Dang's Story
My name is Dang, and I'm a 42-year old mother living on Koh Kho Khao island in Pang-nga province in the South of Thailand. I am a village headman's wife, and have four children.
My family was affected by the tsunami disaster in Thailand and our house was destroyed by the wave. We were so glad to receive a new home built by Christian volunteers from North America.
I am the first one of my people on the island who made the decision to be a Christian. I first heard the good new about Jesus from a doctor who came with the volunteer teams and from pastor Preecha's wife. I thought about Jesus for months after our house was finished, and then pastor Preecha's wife, Nittaya helped me to receive Jesus as my Lord.
I am not afraid of my neighbors because nobody has helped me with my sorrow except Jesus. By believing in Jesus Christ I have been healed from my sickness and bitterness. For many years my husband had a mistress and wasted a lot of money, but God has changed my heart so that I can again be happy and he has healed my sickness.
For many years my husband would not accept my daughter's husband, so my daughter could not come home for years. I talked to God about this problem, and God answered my prayer. My husband now allows them to come home and I am very happy for God's mercy.
I am enthusiastic about learning more and reading the word and go to church regularly. Now I love God and don't go to the temple any more. I tell my village friends about Jesus and help bring my friends to know Christ. I serve at church activities or when volunteers come to the center. I am now happy and contented in the village of Nok Na. My family is restored again and my husband stays at home and loves his grandchildren. I am so glad that I came to know Jesus, and even though few people understand me, I am not afraid.
